What makes a good business Partner?
"our partnerships help us to ensure that you have the tools you need to prosper and stay competitive"
Exciting and innovative solutions require business partners who listen and can demonstrate proven technology and services to match. In the same way we strive to work in partnership with our clients', we also expect our business partners to work with us in the same focused way. Calvis has forged strategic partnerships with selected organizations, allowing us to provide solutions that combine best-of-breed technologies with our specialist expertise.
How will your partnerships help me?
We have learnt that partnerships are often formed on no more than an initial attraction and a promise of a fruitful future. Any partnership requires work and a developed understanding that allows both organizations to work with one another to provide a combined solution born from truly complimentary products and services. To this end, we also operate a number of informal partnerships. Informal partnerships help us, and our partners, to expand our experience and knowledge of the available solutions and technologies within our marketplace. In addition, they provide us with the opportunity to work collaboratively before entering into a formal arrangement.
So, how will your partnerships help me?

Colligo
Contributor Integrate Outlook with SharePoint for enhanced email & document management
The challenge
We are a top 50 UK law firm and are considering migrating to a Microsoft
SharePoint platform for Document Management. However, we are concerned that
SharePoint does not provide us with adequate email management facilities.
The majority of content being added to our existing document management
system originates from email. As you would expect, a good deal of attention
has been given to email management by some of the more recognized document
management vendors operating in the legal sector. Therefore, we are mindful
that this functionality needs to be a key requirement for any successful
Microsoft SharePoint document management solution. We have found that the
user experience of moving attachments and emails from Microsoft Outlook to
SharePoint is time consuming and can leave valuable metadata behind. We
expect a familiar and intuitive user interface and the simplicity of
drag-and-drop, right click, and other desktop operations. We also require
the ability to share, classify and access information easily - functionality
we can find within SharePoint.
The solution
The Colligo Contributor Outlook Add-in provides a convenient way to synchronize
SharePoint document libraries (including sub-folders) with Outlook folders.
Staff can easily copy or move documents, emails, and attachments between Outlook
and SharePoint, as they do with any other Microsoft application. This can be
achieved either manually with a simple drag-and-drop or automatically using
Outlook rules.
With emails, Contributor automatically captures standard message fields and maps
them to metadata in the SharePoint document library. Additionally, custom
metadata can be updated immediately with the Outlook Add-in. Content can be made
available for online-only access or it can be cached locally for offline use.
With offline mode, content is synchronized to an encrypted local data store - it
is not stored in Outlook (.ost or .pst). This Outlook Add-in delivers powerful
functionality for email retention and collaboration applications. It can help
drive overall adoption of SharePoint across your firm.
Key benefits:
- Sync SharePoint document libraries to Outlook;
- Gain immediate access based on SharePoint user permissions;
- Drag-and-drop emails and attachments in Outlook to SharePoint;
- Automatically capture standard metadata (e.g. To, From, Subject, and Date);
Set-up Outlook rules to automatically add/copy emails to SharePoint;
- Set content type and custom metadata immediately in Outlook;
- View and sort document library content; and
- Choose from online-only or offline caching configurations.

pdfDocs Desktop Create and manage PDF documents quickly and easily
| The challenge
We are a top 50 UK law firm and we
need a PDF solution that will integrate with our Hummingbird DM document
management system and scanners. In addition to creating, managing and sharing
PDF format documents, we require a solution that will automate the capture of
scanned images as PDF documents and route them to either designated members of
staff or directly into Hummingbird DM.
The solution pdfDOCS
Desktop was deployed throughout the firm giving staff the ability to: combine
documents from different applications, including scanned images into a single
PDF document; annotate documents with notes and comments; and redact
confidential information from PDF documents before sending them to third
parties. Given pdfDocs Desktop is fully integrated with Hummingbird DM, the
creation of PDF documents is easy. From the right-click menu staff are able to
either create a PDF document to email, save to Hummingbird DM or load to pdfDocs
Organizer where it can be assembled with other documents and saved back as a new
collated document back into Hummingbird DM.
Key benefits:
- Combine electronic documents, scanned images, email messages and attachments into a single, secure file;
- Collaborate with colleagues allowing them to review documents and add their own notes and comments;
- Protect the firm and client by redacting private and confidential information;
- Secure documents by removing document metadata and preventing document tampering; and
- Profile the document directly into Hummingbird DM as a new document, a new version or an attachment to an existing document.
