Calvis, a leading IT and management consultancy for the professional services sector, has been engaged by Transwestern, one of the largest privately held commercial real estate firms in the United States, to provide ongoing SharePoint consultancy. The appointment involves providing input into how the firm can exploit the benefits of SharePoint, particularly in relation to future application development.
The underlying motivation for Transwestern is to gain expert insight into how SharePoint can be further embedded into its culture to generate a tangible return on investment. In relation to the business and process improvement capabilities of SharePoint, Calvis specifically focus on document management and workflow, business intelligence, integration and extranet and intranet solutions.
Chris Saah, Chief Information Officer at Transwestern, said: “Calvis has a very strong reputation in the States for providing clear strategic advice and its credentials in SharePoint are also very compelling. From our perspective, Calvis understands our sector, business and the technology we use. For those reasons it is best placed to help us maximize both existing and future investment.”
Chris Lees, executive director at Calvis, said: “One of our key business objectives is to expand our presence in other markets, particularly North America and Eastern Europe. Pleasingly we are getting traction in both. Many firms buy into a solution but then fail to utilize it effectively at a business level. Our differentiator is that we understand both the technology and the professional services environment. If you have this combined knowledge you can then ensure that any cash spent results in time or cost efficiencies.”
